Overview of the role The Matre'd will act as the initial impression of the restaurant, manage the dining room experience, and make sure that it is a positive and lasting impression.
The Matre'd will ensure customers have the best possible dining experience by utilizing their knowledge of dining etiquette and protocol, strong interpersonal skills, and accommodate guest needs and special occasions.
The Matre'd will work closely with the Chef and Restaurant Manager to receive feedback and focus on ways to continually improve the dining experience What you have High school diploma, equivalent, or higher At least 5 years in a high-end, fast-paced restaurant environment Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff Excellent food and beverage knowledge, and an eagerness to grow that knowledge Polished and professional demeanor Adaptive organizational skills, can change plans to meet new circumstances and situations Excellent customer service skills, able to handle any type of situation and guest need Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to use technology, e.

, tablets, iPads, computers, POS A sense of ownership in everything that you do What you'll do Welcome guests at the restaurant entrance and seat them as needed Handle all reservations, scheduling, and flow of the restaurant through dinner service.
Ensure that lounge and dining room are ready for service, to include checking for cleanliness, proper table wear, proper light and music levels, and appropriate table set up Assist in the training of hosts to ensure proper hospitality knowledge, table numbers, phone etiquette, and verbiage.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
