LPN - Memory Care FLEX Overnight 11pm - 7:30 am

Mease Manor is currently looking for Nurses (LPNs) to provide care to residents in our beautiful memory care center. This state-of-the-art building is a home for 32 seniors experiencing different challenges with memory care disorders.
Flex positions are available on our 11:00 pm - 7:30 am shift needed ASAP.

Position Summary:
The LPN is responsible for providing nursing care to the residents through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. Supervises resident care associates ensuring proper resident care and interaction. The LPN assumes responsibility accountability for a group of residents for a shift of duty.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Maintains a presence in households to ensure resident care associates are providing appropriate care to residents.
Supports and maintains harmonious relationships through communication and relationship management with family members, visitors, and co-workers.
Understands residents' plan of care, dietary needs, advance directives, etc. and follows accordingly.
Charts notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided, as well as, the resident's response to the care.
Works collaboratively with other members of the team in coordination of the resident's care. Consistently works in a positive and cooperative manner with co-workers.
Effectively communicate residents' changing needs and plan of care among staff members.
Gives and receive the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
Performs and/or assists with personal hygiene/ADLs, and with meals as needed.
Ensures resident care associates chart requested information as required (i.e., monthly weights, changes in moods, meal consumption, liquid intake, bowel and bladder patterns, etc.)
Ensures household activities are implemented and residents are encouraged. May facilitate and/or participate in activities.
Regulates light, temperature, and noise to resident desires; ensuring a safe and calming environment.
Assists in training and welcoming new employees.
Minimizes slow periods with preparation activities to meet future needs of the department and/or resident (i.e., education, organizing, housekeeping, assisting others)
Notifies Director of Memory Care, physician, and family of an adverse change in condition.
Responds calmly and effectively to emergency situations, administers CPR and/or AED per DNR orders.
Administers medication accurately, as prescribed by the physician, observing resident response, and documenting response. Reports any negative or unusual responses to Director of Memory Care.
Perform routine charting duties as required in accordance with established charting policy.
Complete required forms upon admission, transfer, and /or discharge.
Transcribe physician's order to resident charts, medex, as required.
Notify the ADON of all medication and narcotic discrepancies noted on your shift.
Review care plans daily to ensure that appropriate care is being given.
Ensure your assigned work area (i.e., nurses station, med cart, medication room, etc.) are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Monitor supplies and submit a request to order as needed.
Ensure your units resident care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a safe and clean manner.
Ensure established safety, infection control and universal precaution guidelines are followed when performing duties.
Assists in ensuring the safety of staff, residents, and visitors by identifying potential safety hazards to immediate supervisor and following all emergency plans (i.e., evacuation, hurricane, etc.)
Honor Resident Bill of Rights.
Supports Mease Manor's mission and vision.
As a legal and moral responsibility, immediately reports all witnessed or suspected resident abuse, neglect, exploitation or misappropriation of funds to the department director.
All other duties as assigned.
Credentials/Experience:
Valid license to practice in the State of Florida as a Licensed Professional Nurse required.
Valid CPR certificate required.
Two years of dementia care experience preferred.
Complete required dementia training upon hire, according to State regulations.
Pre-employment
All applicants must pass a drug test and level 2 background check before beginning work. Refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
