Mease Manor is currently looking for a carpenter to help repair and maintain apartments and common areas in the nine-story building located on a 12 acre campus.
This is a full-time position that includes a robust benefits package.
Under general supervision, performs "finish carpentry" through designing, construction, repair and maintenance of physical structures of the facility. Also functions as a renovation specialist by conducting upgrades the construction of apartments and common areas.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Designs, constructs, remodels, and repairs interior structures (i.e., cabinetry, counter tops, furniture, workstations, bookcases, tables, shelving, custom closets, etc.) for resident apartments, common areas, or offices.
Operates machinery for carpentry work safely and properly (i.e., saws, joinery equipment, planer, router, sander, etc.).
Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
Finishes wood surface with sealer, stains, paint, varnish, gel, etc.
Installs laminates on surfaces as needed.
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized wood shop and work areas at all times.
Conducts inventory of carpentry supplies and materials, reports needs to Project Manager.
Renovation Specialist:
At the direction of the project manager, renovates apartments including kitchens, bathrooms, balconies and other interior areas according to specs. This function may include, but is not limited to:
Remove and replace kitchen cabinets, plumbing and electrical devices.
Remove and replace commodes, vanities, sinks, faucets, shower bars.
Verify performance of AC/heating systems. Make repairs as needed.
Replace electrical devices such as switches, receptacles, fixtures, fans.
Remove and reinstall vertical blinds and window treatments.
Manufacture and install hard surface countertops in kitchens and bath areas.
Install floor and wall tiles.
Build walls and patch sheetrock, plasterboard.
Replace vinyl material on fixed and moving panels on balconies.
Install cable and telephone outlets.
Greet incoming residents and assist with the move-in process.
Conducts inventory of materials for apartment renovations. Immediately informs project manager of materials needed.
Manages electronic lock system. This function may include, but is not limited to:
Install electronic locks on administrative and apartment doors.
Program locks, and keys for residents and staff.
Installs, troubleshoot, support and/or move telephones for staff and residents.
Assists in ensuring the safety of staff, residents, and visitors by identifying potential safety hazards to immediate supervisor and following all emergency plans (i.e., evacuation, hurricane, etc.)
Honor Resident Bill of Rights.
Supports Mease Manor's mission and vision.
As a legal and moral responsibility, immediately reports all witnessed or suspected resident abuse, neglect, exploitation or misappropriation of funds to department director.
All other duties as assigned.

Required Pre-employment Drug Testing and Level 2 Background Screening
All applicants must pass a level 2 background screening and a drug test before beginning work. Refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
